Community Service Club Challenge

Enter the Office of Student Life, Community Service Club Challenge Contest for the chance to win a grand prize of $1000 dollars for your Registered Club/Organization to benefit a local community service program within Merced County and win $ 500 for your RCO. (To qualify your RCO must be registered with OSL.)

Submit this application and proposal of 1000 words or less (typed and on a separate page) stating the focus of your event/program (ie. children, the homeless, single mothers, community event, etc.) as well as the purpose of the project. 

The proposal should concentrate on an event that will be held during the 2012 – 2013 academic year. All applications should be off campus and community based events. Proposals will be assessed according to likelihood of success, details of event, student support, budget (draft okay and may be on a separate page) and preparation.  (The funds are not directly deposited to your account. OSL will purchase equipment or materials on your behalf).

There will be open office hours available for consultation or guidance in constructing a written application on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 12pm-2pm and 3pm-5pm, as well as on Friday, September 21, 2012 from 12pm-2pm.

A panel determined by OSL staff and interns will determine winners.

1st Place - $1000 for project and $500 for future club events.

2nd Place - $600 for project and $300 for future events.

3rd Place - $400 for project and $ 200 for future events.

Proposal (quality of proposal)      Idea and expectations (thought out idea)

Community Involvement   Club/Student support (working with others)
