About Our Office

Welcome to the Office of Student Involvement at UC Merced!

Mission Statement: The Office of Student Involvement is committed to building a sense of belonging and school spirit by helping students explore ways to get involved on campus, develop new leadership skills, and engage in meaningful experiences that will prepare them for the opportunities of tomorrow.

INVOLVEMENT

Student Success is a principal goal of the Office of Student Involvement. Numerous co-curricular experiences lead to positive emotional, intellectual, social, and inter-personal development. By working together with other individuals, students learn to negotiate, communicate, manage conflict, and lead others. Working outside of the classroom with diverse groups of individuals allows for students to gain more self-confidence, autonomy, and appreciation for others' differences and similarities.

BOBCAT TRADITIONS AND SCHOOL SPIRIT

UC Merced school spirit & traditions should be invaluable to our campus community. This spirit dates back to 2005, when the first class of Bobcat entered campus and crafted our school song, “My Merced.” More than 14 years later, those words are still felt on campus in a set of traditions that are uniquely UC Merced.

PERSONAL GROWTH AND TRANSFORMATIVE LEARNING helps students re-frame their worldview through initiatives and programs that challenge previous perceptions and connects students with new knowledge.
